Owned and run by Chris and Tina Sideris for over thirty years, the Hourglass Tavern earned a reputation for fresh, affordable fare and welcoming service. The care of these traditions has now been passed on to the new owners of the Hourglass, Beth Sheinis & Josh Toth.
"We are both longtime denizens of the Theater District restaurant world and are thrilled to finally have a place that we can truly call our own. We bring to the Hourglass a passion for serving the close-knit Broadway and Hell’s Kitchen communities as well as the neighborhood’s many visitors from across the country and around the world.Our goal is to offer not only delicious, uncomplicated cuisine in a casual, homey atmosphere, but a place that others will also come to think of as home, or at least a home-away-from-home.
Presently, we are open six days a week – Tuesday through Sunday. We look forward to extending our hours in the near future, once full renovations have been completed.
The Restaurant
Tuesday & Wednesday: 4 pm - 11 pm

The Bar
Tuesday- Sunday: 5 pm - 4 am
Meals & Liquor are served on all floors. There is a restroom located on all floors.

The original intimate “Tavern” is located on the first floor with a view of our small but amazing kitchen. There are two window seats and seven additional tables. If you like action, this floor is for you!
This floor is home to our newly constructed bar-room referred to as “Bettibar”. There are 4 tables and bar seating for twelve. The room can seat approximately 20 and the full menu is available for casual dining. Stay tuned for our late night extended menu soon to come!
Dinner and cocktails are served in our third floor lounge. Set up as our speakeasy or music “conservatory”, this room is adorned with musical instruments (some available for use), has 14 tables, banquette seating, and a small but fully stocked bar. The mood pays homage to the talents of our local musicians and audiophiles alike.
There is a 32” screen, DVD player, and an Ipod hook up should you have a special musical request. This room can seat approximately 30 for a cozy private gathering.
